Where History Meets Modern Experience

A 1914 landmark restored for today’s creators, celebrations, and productions

Originally constructed in 1914, The Theater DTLA began as a 1600-seat auditorium and quickly became a cultural heartbeat of Los Angeles. It hosted the LA Philharmonic’s first season in 1919, housed the West’s largest pipe organ, and welcomed operas, orchestras, jazz shows, and early film pioneers like Charlie Chaplin.

After decades of closure, this architectural icon has been revived as The Theater DTLA—a cinematic, versatile, multi-level venue built for unforgettable events and professional productions.
